Baby namings and welcome blessings
Baby namings
A baby naming ceremony offers a unique and very personal way to celebrate the arrival of your child into the world. You can use the occasion to declare before family and friends the promises you wish to make to your child and to ask the people you have chosen to take on supporting roles to pledge their love and support.
This is your ceremony. You can include whatever feels right and meaningful for you. This may include readings, blessings, music and symbolic rituals. Friends and family members can express their hopes and blessings for your child’s future development, and other children in the family can be invited to welcome their new brother or sister. You may also wish to give your child a special gift, something to keep and treasure for years to come.
It is my pleasure to get to know you and your family so that together we can create a heart warming ceremony that is unique to you and your child, one that reflects the values and beliefs that you would like your child to grow up with
Joint ceremony
You may have friends who have also just become parents. A joint ceremony is an ideal way to celebrate this wonderful event together. You can include your own choices and combine parts of the ceremony so that it is still a very personal and meaningful occasion for you all.
Welcoming an older child
For children whose birth was not celebrated in any special way a welcoming ceremony is the perfect answer. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge your child’s special gifts and qualities and for family members and friends to offer their thoughts and good wishes. A welcoming ceremony is also ideal for embracing adopted or step children into a new family. A great way to bond the extended family unit.
